I'm a first year statistics grad student at UCLA, and one of my professors suggested I check out Hacks/Hackers. I'm interested in data visualization and large data.

Hi Amelia, I'm not sure if my new meetup group will appeal to your interests. "Tech Cofounder Dating LA" was created for advanced coders, business people and others to gather and build tech companies.
